Chapter 7 icon - The Gospel Road

Find true peace in the middle of life's storms

MANY difficult trials and events are currently testing the patience of the followers of Jesus. As you stay close to Jesus, you will be reassured by His presence and you will realize that these difficult trials will come to an end and that one of the most incredible events in the history of the universe is coming very soon – the second coming of Jesus to Earth. In our final section below, we will review some of the details of current and upcoming difficult events so that you can be better prepared for them. 110

At the End of Our Time on Earth, There Will Only Be Two Sides
Those who are on God's side will:
  • Obey God’s Ten Commandments and have the same strong faith that Jesus had.
  • Love their enemies and will be doing good to those that hate them.
  • Spread the gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue and people.
  • Be persecuted by those on Lucifer’s side.  111
Those who are on Lucifer's side will:
  • Disobey God’s Ten Commandments.
  • Be unloving and hate those they disagree with.
  • Be lovers of this world more than Heaven.
  • Persecute those who are true followers of Jesus.  112
Three Warnings for Your Future
The Battle About God's Law:
The biggest battle you will witness in your future will be an escalation of the same spiritual battle that has been fought since Lucifer sinned against God and was removed from Heaven. The battle is simply this: those who are on Lucifer’s side will try to convince you that God’s law is not perfect and that it needs to be changed. Throughout this battle; there will always be faithful followers of Jesus who will choose to obey His law and will have faith that His law is perfect. There will be many frightening events at the end of our time on Earth. Do not be afraid, trust in God’s promises from the prior section to help you through these times and remember to keep your focus on Jesus – He will always be with you. If you are ever confused as to which path to take, remember to love God with all you heart, soul, and mind; and love your neighbor as yourself. If you are seeking to know and do God’s will, you will be directed to the right path. 113
Strange Supernatural Events:
It is important to realize that not all supernatural events are from God. Following are a few examples of upcoming supernatural events that will be caused by Lucifer:
  • Jesus warned us that there will be those who will claim to be Jesus - but they will be deceivers. Lucifer will appear as an angel of light and will deceive many people. Here is how you can tell the difference between Lucifer’s deception and the second coming of Jesus. When Jesus comes back to Earth to take us to Heaven, He will come with millions of holy angels and will raise all of His followers from their graves at His command. Those followers of Jesus who are still alive at His second coming will also be raised into the sky to be with Jesus. His coming will be loud and every person will see it, you will hear the sound of a trumpet and the earth will quake, and some islands will be moved from their current location. During this time those who are not followers of Jesus will try to hide. Jesus will remain in the clouds of the sky while those who are followers of Jesus will be taken up into the sky to accompany Jesus on His trip back to Heaven.  114
  • Lucifer will call fire down from heaven as an example of his power. Remember that Lucifer was created with a lot of power and he will display some of that power to deceive people and convince them that he is really an angel of light. Thankfully, God is infinitely more powerful than Lucifer. It will be necessary to walk by faith during this time and not look at Lucifer or listen to what he has to say – do not presume that you are strong enough to withstand this deception. Remember the lesson that Eve learned in the Garden of Eden – do not be curious about what God has forbidden, instead turn away and pray for strength to stay faithful to Jesus and His law.  115
What Happens When a Person Dies?
Lucifer’s first lie to Eve was that she would not die if she sinned against God. Eve died many years ago and waits for the resurrection of the saved while she silently sleeps in the grave as do the rest of God’s children who are sleeping. God alone has the power to live forever (this is also referred to as being immortal). At the second coming of Jesus, His followers will be given eternal life as a gift, but apart from God’s sustaining power, humans are not immortal. As Earth’s history closes, Lucifer will once again try to deceive us by repeating the same lie – that we do not really die at the end of our lives, but just change forms or go to some other place. The Bible explains that the dead do not know anything; they are unable to praise God. Remember that Lucifer and his angels have the ability to transform themselves into angels of light as well as relatives that are dead. As we experience the pain of losing our family members and friends to death, do not be deceived, but be blessed by the truth that the dead do not know anything until they are raised at the first resurrection of the saved at Jesus’ second coming or at the second resurrection of the lost. 116
Three Blessings for Your Future
The Blessing of Sleep:
When you wake up from a good, sound sleep it seems like you just closed your eyes and went to sleep a moment ago. Jesus has told us that when one of His followers dies it is just like sleep – the next moment they are aware of is when they wake up and see Jesus coming to take them home to Heaven in an event called the “resurrection” – this occurs at the second coming of Jesus to Earth. Jesus’ own resurrection from the dead gives us confidence that He has the power to resurrect each one of His followers and give them eternal life. Our God is so powerful that He can recreate each one of His faithful followers in a moment of time. When we are resurrected we will recognize each other, but our new bodies will be perfect and we will be clothed with a beautiful white robe that appears like light. God will also preserve our character – those habitual thoughts and feelings that we have developed with God’s power throughout the course of our life while living on Earth. As we experience the pain of death of our loved ones and friends, let us also remember the blessing of sleep. 117
The Blessing of Trust:
At some point, those in positions of leadership will make it illegal for followers of Jesus to obey His perfect law. Increasingly severe laws will persecute those who are obedient to God’s royal law. As you hear these laws being discussed, it will be wise for you and your family to ask God to help you move to a secluded country location where you can learn to grow your own food. As persecution increases, there will come a time when you will no longer be able to buy or sell anything – this will be a time when you will need to trust in God to supply all of your needs. When you are warned by God to flee to the protection of mountains or other desolate places, you must immediately leave without any delay. If you are outside of your home when you receive this warning, do not turn back to your home to take anything from your house with you – this is the time to trust completely in God’s provision for you. We are instructed by Jesus to pray that our time of departure will not occur on the Sabbath day. We are also warned that those of us who are married should plan to stop having children as we see this time approaching – Jesus specifically warns that we should not have a small baby with us during this time of persecution. As we experience the pain of persecution, let us also experience the blessing of trusting in God completely to supply our needs. 118
The Blessing of God's Perfect Judgment and Justice:
On Earth, we are fortunate if we live in a place that has fair laws and judges.  When a person is on trial for a crime, the judge looks at the evidence that has been presented to the court to determine if the person is guilty or innocent.
We can be very thankful that God the Father is a perfect judge who can never lie or make a mistake. Each person on Earth has been guilty of sinning against the government of God; therefore, each one of us will be judged by God in His courtroom in Heaven to determine if our sins have been forgiven and to prove if we are genuine followers of Jesus. 119
The law that God will use to judge us is the Ten Commandments – His perfect and holy law. The principles of His law can be clearly understood by any person who asks God for assistance. God has placed the concepts of His law in our hearts so that we will know the difference between right and wrong. When the case of a professed follower of Jesus comes before God, our attorney and witness will be Jesus – He is the One who will testify to God the Father if we are one of His true followers. 120
The evidence that God will use to make His judgment is complete and much more detailed than any evidence found in any courtroom on Earth. God records every word, thought, motive and action in your entire life – this is used as evidence. God is also completely aware of the environment you were raised in and the influence of other people in your life. God is one of the witnesses to this evidence, and so is your angel. Only God has the power, as a divine being, to review so much information and make a perfect judgment about you. 121
When your court case comes before God the Father, if you are judged to be currently obedient to God’s law through the power that God has given you, then you will be judged by God the Father to be a genuine follower of Jesus. Then, because of your faith in Jesus’ ability and right to save you, God the Father will rule that you are His child – a citizen of Heaven. God the Father will consider this ruling to be just (to be valid and true according to His law) because He will acknowledge that Jesus has paid the penalty for the sins you previously committed. He will consider His ruling to be just because the evidence has shown that you have been growing up as a faithful child to become like your close friend and Savior, Jesus. He will consider His ruling to be just because the evidence will show that through God’s power you have been keeping His holy law – in other words, you have not been found to be intentionally or knowingly disobeying any of His commandments. 122
For those whose case is brought before God and found to be disobedient to His law – for those who doubt that Jesus can save them from sin or who love to sin – they will be judged as followers of Lucifer and will share in his penalty. God the Father will consider this ruling to be just because He will acknowledge that there was clear evidence that this unsaved person did not love God with all their heart, soul and mind or their neighbor as themselves. There will also be clear evidence that this unsaved person did not have genuine faith in Jesus’ ability and right to save them from sin. 123
After all the cases of every person who has ever lived are decided, God’s mercy will end for the unsaved and His justice will be dispensed – this will occur after the second resurrection (the resurrection of those who are not saved). God’s final penalty for the sins of the lost will be death – this penalty will have everlasting effects, it is permanent. We have been given a clear example of the final penalty for sin in the death of Jesus who took on the penalty for the sins of His followers. Those who are lost will pay the penalty for their crimes against God while being surrounded by a global fire that will encompass and cleanse the Earth from all sin and any reminder of sin. The lost will be burned up completely and become ashes. God’s justice will be perfect and exact – the penalty given to each of the lost will exactly match the penalty for their particular sins. For each time they mistreated one of God’s people in any way, for each time they hurt God by their rebellion against His law, for every gift of God they rejected, for every misuse of the blessings He gave them so that they could help others in need, for every selfish or immoral act, lie, or proud look, God will measure out the penalty. God has warned us in the Bible that His justice is not something any person would ever want to experience – it is far beyond our ability to comprehend. The only reason a lost person is not concerned about receiving God’s justice is because they have no idea what His perfect justice will be like – please warn every person you know that is currently disobedient to God. 124
After God’s justice is served, there will never again be another person or angel who will sin against God. All of God’s created beings will have a huge amount of evidence from the history of planet Earth that will reveal to them that God’s law is perfectly just and His love and mercy are reasons for us to be thankful throughout eternity. 125
As a follower of Jesus in the last moments of Earth’s history, maintain your unwavering faith in God’s promises. Let us also have faith in His unfailing love for us that He displayed on the cross of Calvary.  Our love for Jesus and His love for us is what will sustain us through these last events. 126
As we are persecuted by those who Jesus died for, let us pray to be reminded by the Holy Spirit about the preciousness of each person. Let us treat all with loving kindness as our Savior has treated us even when we were causing Him pain. 127
As we are treated painfully, let us remember the pain that Jesus endured so that we might have eternal life. And let us have pity for those who have never known the love of Jesus. 128
As we are forbidden to buy and sell, forbidden to sustain ourselves in this world, let us remember the promises of our Master who has promised to never leave us or forsake us. He has promised to supply all of our needs and has told us that His followers will always have bread and water. 129
As we must flee from our humble homes here on Earth, let us remember the beautiful homes that Jesus has prepared for us in Heaven. He has decorated and lovingly designed our new home so that when we step inside we will feel completely at peace knowing that we have finally arrived at the place that will be our home forever. 130
As we witness emotional and physical destruction all around us, let us look forward to that soon day when our Creator will come back to take us to Heaven – when He will come back to announce that all the pain and suffering of this Earth has finally ended and a new eternity has begun in which we will live in God’s home forever where we will feel and know that we are safe, secure and loved! 131
As we witness close friends and family turning against God’s followers, let us remember our Father in Heaven who is eagerly waiting for us to come home. And let us focus on that day when Jesus Himself will embrace us and say “well done thou good and faithful servant.” 132
Until that day, it is my prayer that you will be found faithful -
“Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
John 15:13
“Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the life...”
John 14:6
110 - Return
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” I Peter 4:12-13

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” I Thessalonians 4:16-18

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:7-8
111 - Return
“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12

“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” Psalms 19:7-11

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?” Matthew 5:43-47

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,” Revelation 14:6

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” II Timothy 3:1-5

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:7-13

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:” Revelation 6:14-16

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” I Corinthians 15:51-55

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:38-40

117 - Return

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” I Thessalonians 4:16-18

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.” I Corinthians 15:20-23

“Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.” John 11:41-44

And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Revelation 7:13-14

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” I Corinthians 15:51-55

And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
